Kim Atkinson, Chief Operating Officer at Foundery Digital Marketing Group

With a background in Psychology and Anthropology from Western University, Kim’s early career was rooted in human connection. From hospitality to working in outreach and education at a cheetah conservation facility in Southern Africa, she developed a strong foundation in communication, behaviour, and audience understanding. Those experiences continue to shape how she approaches marketing today.

As Co-Founder and COO of Foundery, Kim sits at the intersection of operations, strategy, and client success. She plays a key role in how the agency delivers work, scales its systems, and evolves its services to keep pace with where digital marketing is going, not where it has been.

Over the past two decades, Kim has helped guide businesses through major shifts in search, from early SEO to today’s AI-driven landscape. Her focus now is on helping brands remain visible and relevant as discovery moves beyond traditional search engines. By integrating Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) alongside SEO, she works with clients to structure their digital presence so they can be surfaced not just in rankings, but in AI-generated answers across platforms like ChatGPT and beyond.

Kim is known for building strong, long-term partnerships with clients. She brings a practical, no-fluff approach to strategy, ensuring that marketing efforts are grounded in real business objectives, backed by data, and executed with clarity and accountability. Outside of client work, Kim is deeply invested in the growth of her community. She is an active speaker, mentor, and advocate for local businesses, and is committed to helping organizations navigate an increasingly complex digital landscape. She currently serves on the Board of Directors at TechAlliance, supporting the advancement of London’s technology sector. She is also a long-time member of the Fanshawe College Program Advisory Committee and a former Board member of the London Small Business Centre. Her involvement across these organizations reflects a consistent focus on entrepreneurship, education, and business growth. Kim is also a member of Skål International London, connecting her with tourism and hospitality leaders locally and globally, and supporting the continued growth of Canada’s travel and tourism industry.

Whether she’s working with clients, mentoring teams, or speaking on industry trends, Kim’s approach is consistent: understand the audience, adapt to change, and build strategies that are meant to last.
